Well, first of all, looks like the miss-shift from 1-2 at 9000 rpm was the main problem. Wasn't the car's fault at all, and from the looks of the other cylinder's below, they were still in good shape.

Most importantly, it was only a 1-2 shift and not 3-4. Bad things could have happened at 100+mph with oil and coolant all over those Hoosiers. Emery is fine, the car is still mint (although the Zaklee clear cam gear cover took a beating as the balance shaft belt came right up through!)

I'm relieved it's all over. Alot of pressure off our shoulders! Although a 9.9 would have been awesome, I'll take a 10.0 and the 4 years of abuse and fun this car has given and taken!

That is some serious carnage. You should be proud of these pictures. The other internals really do not look that bad for a 10second stock block powerhouse.

It was a damn nice run. And as they say, if you are going to go out, go out in style and that destruction is pure style......diiiiiiiiirty style that is.

Nice job getting out of the grove after it let go. You certainly got every ounce out of that stock block. So are you going to build a motor or try again with another stock block?

Just awesome.

It will be built next year and we will be shooting for alot faster of a car...

I'm now going over every video that I have of this car at 100% throttle... you will not believe how much of this car was recorded. My mind is blown with how much I have. I'll be working on this video for quite a while, but it's unbelievable the amount of abuse this car took.

Wow. I feel your pain.



That was a shot of one of my blocks back in '05.

If you don't blow shit up from time to time, you aren't pushing hard enough. That goes for any racing: drag, road race, rally, autocross, etc. Pop an engine in drag racing, burn up tires and transmissions in autocross, burn up brakes and rotors and tires at road racing, slamming your car up against trees in rally.

Do the same thing we all do, rebuild, move forward and go faster.

Sorry for your loss. You really got your money/times worth out of that engine though. Can't wait to see it run 8's.

Thanks for the updated pictures, it really tells a story on how far these cars can be pushed! The free revving to 9k during the misshift was likely the nail in the coffin like you said.

We'll be waiting with baited breath to see what you come out with next!

Wow! That is indeed some carnage! Did anything else get taken out on the rods exodus or did it go down and out?? Any damage to the radiator or anything???

The balance shaft belt took out the Zaklee clear cam gear cover- came right up through! Some sort of flying debris took a bite out of the t-case, but not enough that I even saw where it was. I looked, but couldn't find it, but Emery said it's there, but again, not enough to be upset abbut or do any damage.

We are very lucky. Looks like it was meant to be- a clean blow. Time to rebuild!

I am so glad you video tape everything. I get to live vicariously through these moments.

I love that car, so hopefully you can keep us awake over the hibernation with sneaky pictures of whats to come.

NOOOOO! This day is so sad. Can't wait what you guys come up with next year.
